Examples Of Probabilities

Some examples of probabilities familiar to almost everybody. For instance, if you flip a fair coin, there is a 50% chance it will land heads and a 50% chance it will land tails. This is, in fact, the definition of a fair coin. Then, for a fair coin,

Probability of heads = Probability of tails = -j

If you cast a fair die, you can have one of six outcomes, from one to six inclusive. Each outcome has a — probability of occurring.

If you pull one card from a standard, complete deck of cards, you have a —2 probability of pulling any particular card, a probability of — of pulling any particular suit, and a probability of — of pulling a particular color.
